About Hearts of Chicago Foundation
We are a community-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Chicago families through essential support programs. Founded by Chicago native Ta’Jeare Black, the foundation is built on the belief that “Your today does not decide your tomorrow.” Our mission is to uplift families by providing dignity-centered support that strengthens communities and creates opportunities for a brighter future.
We provide community centered programs that uplift Chicago families through back to school support, holiday meal distributions, and year round resources that foster dignity, stability, and belonging. Our work focuses on meeting real needs in the community while ensuring families feel supported, respected, and connected.
Our Programs and Services

School Supplies Distribution
We provide essential school supplies to Chicago students, ensuring every child has the tools they need to succeed in the classroom. Our program removes barriers to education by equipping families with notebooks, pencils, backpacks, and other critical learning materials.

Holiday Meal Distributions
During the holiday season, we distribute nutritious meals and food packages to families in need. Our holiday meal program brings families together and ensures no one in our community faces hunger during important celebrations.

Ongoing Family Support
Beyond immediate assistance, we provide continuous support to Chicago families through counseling, resource referrals, and community partnerships. Our holistic approach addresses long-term needs and helps families build sustainable paths toward self-sufficiency and stability.
